I have used the Briefcase facility with a USB Dongle for many years to keep a number of files synchronised between my home and office pcs. Never really had any serious problems doing this.

Just upgraded to a Vista machine at home and the Briefcase facility is throwing some wobblies, occasional error messages etc (e.g. "some files have sync copies that are inaccessible etc..."). Has anyone else had such problems and if so what is the solution?

It's making me think that perhaps it's time to move on to a better utility - hopefully freeware - for syncing such files. Can anyone recommend one that works well please - or any other ideas to solve the problem. The Vista Sync centre doesn't appear to work with USB Dongles.
Thanks,

V

Karen's Replicator (just updated too) should do what you need;

or have you tried Microsoft's own "SyncToy"?;

I personally didn't like it, and found it didn't always seem to be working as it should, but that's only my opinion. Other than that, there's always old faithful "Robocopy", but that's command line mainly;
