Portable Apps run on Vista

I have tested all of the portable apps that I use and they all work on Vista even when the author does not list his application for the Vista Operating System. It seems to me that portability bypasses installation issues (since there is no install) that some programs have experienced with Vista installs.

Some of these used PortableApps launchers as U3 progs didn't work on Vista. So the launcher PortableApps.com uses seems to have a plus about it. I have a few stand alone exe's that don't need a launcher that also work on Vista.

Several software Authors I have spoken with express frustration over problems getting their apps to install and run properly on Vista even with MS support. There have been several articles written about reasons for this...some posted here.
