Having lurked/participated here for maybe four years, I have downloaded and utilized MANY applications thanks to this ng. Definitely numerous apps from Pricelessware; possibly even some from Bear Bottoms site. I have even commented, semi-jokingly, that I wait until one or more of the regulars on acf comments positively about a program before downloading it myself.
Unfortunately, my confidence level is ebbing, and those whose "recommendations" carry weight are diminishing, thanks to your own choices as to your very public face. The lengthy tirades, long running grudges, purely childlike behavior, and especially the foul playground language speak more about your integrity and character than all the "awesome" recommendations you have cumulatively posted. I would fully expect to download trojans, spyware, and malware from recommendations by anyone that present themselves in that manner, acting as the internet version of a common brawling, tatooed, disrespectful, street punk. I would not trust ANYTHING put forth by individuals of such low moral character, much like I would not (do not) trust any posts that flood the ng with dozens and dozens of apps as another recent poster did.
An act like that simply has no meaning, and no value to me as a reasonable, cautious, intelligent person.
A heartfelt recommendation based on firsthand experience is Golden, OTOH and if a group of (seemingly) generally reasonable and intelligent people deign to compile a list of apps that are, to them, exceptional, and collectively achieve a method to make those easily accessible at no cost or obligation, and hence no PROFIT, they should be applauded, not mocked or attacked. The mere fact that not every person fully or even partly agrees with a particular list is completely irrelevant. You are free to create your own list, and garner support for that. This is really no different than the concept of different "distros" for linux. One size does not fit all. All that matters HERE, is that primary discussion is limited to freeware as opposed to NON freeware. A little off-topic friendly reparte shouldn't offend any reasonable person. If you are offended, perhaps you are NOT reasonable? |

Concentrate, officer. This group is about freeware, not emotions and love. |

Nothing wrong with a little emotion, but Richard is right on with his post. Nothing wrong about oficers either, but having a stash is everything wrong. Just say NO.

Hi Larry, I haven't done a full download of the file, the KB size looks right, the byte count is from a previous DL (different link).
Program: Pardon
Company: SoftBear
W: LFW
Ware: (Freeware) (free for personal use/ non-commercial use) LFW (v 2.1) http://home.online.no/~smikalse/Pardon.exe
(5748 KB) (5,886,309 bytes)

Larry, Sorry for the SNAFU. Changing ISP's is a real pain.
Susan, Thanks for saving my bacon for the n'th time. |
Hi Bob,
No problem here. BTW, I tried Pardon and can't see why anyone would use it instead of Word Web, especially as WW includes suggested spelling in case of a typo. On my first attempt to use Pardon I used "miriad" insead of "myriad" and it drew a blank. WW suggested the correct spelling. Maybe I'm missing something Pardon does that WW doesn't?
