I can't remember the negative reasons for using incredimail. My friend uses it and it takes longer on dial-up to download her messages for one thing but the rest I can't remember .... I want to warn her about it. Please remind me.

My personal opinion: any program that emphasizes the niceness of adding annoying graphics to one's e-mail is clearly an invention of Satan. |

Large number of very p*ssed recipients. Unless they use strictly text-only mail reader, they'll be inundated by jumping phones, etc. rubbish.
Not a good way to make/keep friends. |
dunno for sure if it's still true but "So you were gullible enuf to load and run Incredimail and you found that you cannot export your mail out of it. You want to save your mail, but cannot." (snippet from an ACF post)
A couple of Incredimail extractors are listed here: http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_INTERNET.php#6.02EmailTool

Besides the bloat it creates, one of the earlier License agreements admitted any emails sent or recieved using IM went through their email servers in Israel to extract advertising information.
IM has since changed it's License but I for one don't want to associate in any way with these nosy parkers. Who knows what they may do with information they've gained through scanning your 'private' emails.
The program it'self is also unstable, just type Incredimail + problems into Google and you'll see what I mean.

Ah, a nice (polite) way to suggest to someone to switch!
It's not always easy (been there) to tell a good guy/gall to dump that .... |
True - and if you hate loathe and despise ittsy-cutesy animimated stuff in emails your opinion tends to creep into the discussion - then your advice is taken as a criticism of their personal taste and rational discussion flies out the window.
