I forgot to post that ATM only 32-bit versions of Vista are supported. See:
http://www.zonealarm.com/store/includes/zaSystemRequirements_popup.jsp
System Requirements:
Vista (32-bit):
* Pentium III 800 MHz or higher
* Minimum system RAM: 512 MB
* 50MB of available hard disk space. Internet access.
Windows XP/2000 Pro:
* Pentium III 450 MHz or higher
* Minimum system RAM: 128 MB
* 50MB of available hard disk space. Internet access.

Good point, but the limitation to 32-bit OSs apparently applies to Windows XP, as well, despite that fact not being specifically mentioned on the page you cite. See here http://preview.tinyurl.com/2pfjja and note that (in the answer to question #12) it says, "NOTE: ZoneAlarm currently works only with 32-bit Operating Systems!"

Thanks. Smile I read too fast the last time I looked at that page and didn't spot the contradiction. This time I read the info *twice* and finally the light dawned. dunno which page (if either) Wink is correct. . .
12. Is there any limitation to using a 64-bit hardware platform with SP2? Older versions of ZoneAlarm (5.0 or below) are not compatible with 64-bit hardware running SP2. You must upgrade to ZoneAlarm (version 5.1 or higher).

In combination with running a ZoneAlarm product (version 5.1 or higher) on a computer with a 64-bit CPU, you must also make sure that DEP is set to its default setting, which is "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only".

Please see the two screenshots below which show the DEP default setting as well as an indicator if your computer system is a 32-bit or 64-bit system. NOTE: ZoneAlarm currently works only with 32-bit Operating Systems!
