I am looking for some more free page like softpedia.com. More like wikipedia.org. More free, less commercial, more democracy.
Is there any? |

I mean a website without ads by a non profit organizations. Possible though donations and user contribute the content.
Those informations are most times better then informations from commercial websites.
But I don´t think there is such a page. Many informations are already in wikipeida but that`s just an encyclopedia for important things. It`s not index site, unimportant and small articles get deleted. |

How does PWH not fit the bill? No ads, non profit, funded by donations, program recommendations from this newsgroup...

Hi Michael! 
Just 2 more options:
1) http://www.freewarefiles.com/ and
2) http://freshmeat.net/ .
FM.NET is a Linux intended site, with programs of any type of license, but:
a) the vast majority of them are open source. b) many are multiported or platform independent (Java, Python etc.).

Does it need to host the downloads itself? Most of the no-ad free ones only provides links. |
