I wonder if you can help me.

I have a Digital Picture frame that supports MP3, MOV, AVI, MPG, MPEG formats.

I have a home movie as an mpg file; I also have the original on a DVD. I transferred the file to a memory card and put it in the picture frame. However, whenever I try to play the file on the frame I get the following message :-

'The file format is not supported'

I converted the file to avi (cannot remember with what software) and tried again but still get the same error message.

Why do I get the error message even though the frame supports avi & mpg? What is the difference between mpg and mpeg formats? Would they both have the .mpg extension?

Does anyone know of any free software I can download that will convert my file to a format the frame will accept?

I appreciate any help or information given.

Thanks!

The one we got for my mom had some software already on the frame's memory that will do just that <shrug> just D/L via USB to PC and install.
