Strike 1: Not freeware
Strike 2: Bad grammar
Strike 3: Not possible to convert movie files to DVD without quality loss.

So you're out. And stay out.

it's shareware. The price is $24,95 and the size is 7.7 Mb. The site www.sharewaredown.com isn't the real download site, you get a link to www.regnow.com or www.tomp4.com.
Trying IE to download it from the primary download site ( regnow.com ) failed because : "your current security settings does not allow downloading this file" and the restricted site icon popped up. No problems with the second download site ( tomp4.com ).
Trying Firefox to download it from the primary download site gives me a small ( 126 Kb ) file. When executed it starts only a program to download the real?? program. No problems downloading it from the second site.

Chris, if it's shareware there's no need to post the link to the program or to give it any kind of a review. This group is for the discussion of freeware.

You left out Strike 4: it was affiliate spam ("affiliate=84628").

Just wondering - for those who do these conversions, how long does it actually take to finish converting a DVD with Decrypter and some other tool?

DVD Decrypter is a different tool, that enables (hopefully) copying of a protected DVD. It is pretty quick.

The above is about converting a file such as avi to DVD format, and burning the resulting file.
It's a while since I've done it, but let's guess that a max of 2GB of avi will convert and burn to DVD in around 3 or 4 hours on my 2600Sempron with 1GB of RAM.
It is the CPU that is the determining factor. You want as much as possible and then you want to walk away from the puter till it has finished.

It sound like it could take quite awhile and with the cost of electricity these days, is it really worth it?

LOL. Electricity is not something to factor in. Is it worth it? I no longer think so - it is much more economical in all respects to buy a DVD player that plays avi. I bought mine 6 months ago for 20GBP.

For sure. But as the volume of Google spam increases here, why give them the further exposure which they crave?

Have a very close look at the last dozen or so posts of the travolta Google spammer. He has it down to a very fine art. Really. More and more of these people are moving to Google because Google simply does not give a monkey's...
