Howdy;
I'm looking to "standardize" on one F/OSS email/pim client for our 6 boxen when we switch over to a combination of freebsd & debian. I've been test-driving a number of email/pim clients (tbird+calendar, seamonkey, evolution, kmail) and Sylpheed's fork, Claws Mail, keeps popping up as an interesting choice. Here's why:
- light on resources
- ssl-over-pop3, imap4, nntp, rss/atom
- plug-in architecture for:
* scoring
* spamassassin
* vcal handling
* calendaring
Any comments wrt the following would be appreciated:
- ease of use (for end-users w/netscape, t-bird experience) - ease of administration (e.g. setup, security patching...) - stability (especially imap & inc. plug-ins) - project's strengths/weaknesses (e.g. bug-squashing, doc, etc).
I would really like to settle on just one project for everyone. I've about 5 weeks left before I need to make a choice. If I'm missing a good email/pim client, I'm all ears.
tia,
