NewClearWorld (Sep 19, 2008): Works well, if your explorer thumbnail extraction prevents unmounting a drive, or deleting the file. And you don't want to disable (read: unregister) video thumbnails (shmedia.dll) feature.

Rol (Oct 25, 2006): I use it almost every day to Hibernate my Toshiba Satellite with an added second hard drive. Files on the new hard drive tend to get locked and then I need unlocker to enable Hibernate. Great program, great job - thanks!

Dan (Aug 27, 2006): 5 out of 5 stars. This is one of those rare pieces that come along that make you wonder how you ever did without them before you got it. These guys have promised on the website that the product will always be freeware and I have no reason to doubt their word, but they most certainly have given up a gold mine with this one. It's priceless.

(Aug 25, 2006): Used to use Move On Boot, which is very good, but Unlocker works without rebooting and that's fabulous! Wish I'd had this when I first started with computers back in the '80s...

Unlocker is a Windows Explorer extension allowing you with a simple right-click on a file or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it's being used by another person or program. Simply right click the folder or file and select Unlocker. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear. Select the lockers and click Unlock and you are done.
